Schedule a Consultation

Design & Planning
- What It Is: We create a team that consists of us (Reinhart Builders, your builder/General Contractor and in-house designer), an architect and engineers as needed, and trade professionals to work with you through the design process in order to align design desires with budget realities.
- Why It’s Important: This step is where your home design starts to take shape and where we will become more specific on associated costs. Our goal is for every aspect, from aesthetics to functionality, to be reviewed in writing, budgeted, and accounted for on the plans.
- How It Helps: With planning, we minimize changes during construction, keeping the project on time and within budget.

Construction & Completion
- What It Is: Our team will manage every detail of the construction process. On-site, our Construction Manager runs the project daily to keep work progressing according to plan in coordination with the architect, designer, and engineer. He maintains subcontractor quality control while working in tandem with our off-site Project Manager who ensures subcontracts are properly executed, billing and invoicing is proceeding in an orderly fashion, materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner, the project schedule (the Gantt Chart) is maintained and updated on an ongoing basis, and excellent communication is maintained among our team members and the client.

To begin, schedule a consultation with our founder, Sebastian Rein, to discuss your project.
2. What can I expect during the consultation?
We will be asking questions and listening to yours. It is not really a sales pitch. What are your needs and goals? What is important to you? What is the purpose of this project? What are your budget constraints? Timeline? From there, we will guide you through our design/build process and share with you what you can expect by working with us.
3. How involved will I be in the design process?
You’ll be highly involved. We and the team we build will collaborate with you to create a personalized plan, ensuring every detail aligns with your vision. We value your input and make sure you’re part of the creative journey.
4. How long will the construction take?
Construction timelines vary based on the scope of the project. However, during the design phase of the process we will create a Gantt Chart that is a construction timeline broken down by task. This will be revised on an ongoing basis throughout the project. We provide clear timelines, regular updates, and transparent communication to ensure all parties maintain accountability, the project continues to progress, and the client is fully informed.
5. What makes REINHART Builders different from other contractors?
We are extremely straightforward, we communicate with everyone, and we pay attention to details. We’re not salesy. We have an in-house team with over 100 years of construction and design experience and relationships with trades, architects and engineers that go back decades. We play well with others.
6. How can I avoid surprises in terms of costs and delays?
Do the work up-front and don’t make changes during construction. By doing more planning than you’d expect before construction you will avoid painful and expensive consequences later.

Principal
Sebastian has over 25 years experience as a real estate builder and developer, completing over $175M in transactions across multi-family, mixed-use and luxury residential asset classes. He loves to build things, to see them come out of the ground, and to obsess over the details until they’re right.
Sebastian has completed the Malibu Triathlon 7 times over 20 years, but has never broken 3 hours. Could this be the year? He lives in Long Beach, CA with his family and a small fraction of his former comic book collection.
Tristam Steinberg
Principal
Tristam Steinberg has 25 years of experience working at the forefront of Visual Marketing and Experiential & Spatial Design.
From Residential Interiors to Experiential Activations; for Proenza Schouler in New York, Paris, and London; Saint Laurent at Coachella; Maison Margiela in Los Angeles; and Mercedes-Benz in Shanghai; to Hospitality and Entertainment interiors for Live Nation in Williamsburg, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Nashville. Tristam’s passion for architecture, art history and design has provided unique opportunities for brands to surprise and delight the Customer, and customers to explore and discover new experiences.
Tristam was born and raised in New York City. He takes much of his inspiration from the city’s rich architectural and cultural history, but loves to travel, seeking an ever broader perspective on the world of design and human interaction. He received a degree in Psychology from Cornell University, specializing in Visual Perception, and studied at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design. Tristam currently splits time between Los Angeles and New York.
